The Boston Childrens Museum will add a new collection of historical artifacts and other artifacts to its holdings, according to its president.
The Boston Childrenʼs Museum’s collection includes more than 3,000 items, including 19th century clothing, artifacts from the Civil War and World War II, and artifacts from World War I, World War 2, and the Korean War, the museum said Monday.
The museum also will offer more than 300 hours of lectures on history and anthropology.
The new collection will include artifacts from a variety of historical periods and will include the Civil Rights era, the Korean and Vietnam wars, the Civil-War Reconstruction era, and World Wars I and II, the organization said in a statement.
“We’re delighted to be adding a new section to our collection and are very proud to be part of the Boston Children´s Museum family,” said Dr. Peter F. Wirth, chair of the museum’s board of trustees.
The collection is being added to the museumʼ s permanent collection and will be accessible online.
