Selfie museum Oklahoma is going to launch an Instagram app for its Science Museum.
The museum, which is in the works since 2013, has been a huge success for the Oklahoman.
The new app will allow museum patrons to snap a picture of the exhibit on the wall, then share it with friends.
It will allow patrons to see the photos at a fraction of the price of traditional museum admission, according to the Okla.com report.
The Instagram app will launch in the spring, the Oklahoma.com reports.
“Our mission is to empower our community through technology, so we have developed the Instagram app to help bring that vision to life,” the museum said in a statement.
“Oklahoma is one of the most technologically advanced states in the nation, and Instagram’s new app can make it easier for Oklahomans to see and experience the world through a more personal lens.”
In an interview with the Okta.com, museum director Kevin Ritchie said the new app was inspired by the success of the museum’s website, which currently has more than 1.2 million followers.
He added that the new Instagram app would allow people to “see a larger-than-life snapshot of the building and the exhibits, and share it all on Instagram.”
The museum is still in the process of developing the app, and it’s unclear how it will work.
A spokesperson for the museum told the Oktobashi News that the museum would be launching the new Facebook app this spring.
“The Instagram app is a great way to engage Oklahoms with science, art, technology and education,” the spokesperson said.
“We are confident that we will be able to continue to build a world-class Science Museum.”
