KANSAS CITY, Mo.
— Some of the most celebrated museums in the U.S. are opening their doors to the public for the holiday season.
The Kansas City Museum of Art will open Dec. 14 and the Kansas City Zoo will open in early January.
The Missouri State Fairgrounds will reopen Nov. 18.
And the Museum of Contemporary Art in New York will open for the holidays with performances and art installations Dec. 16.
The museums have chosen to open their doors with a “happy hour” on Dec. 8 to help raise money for the National Cancer Institute.
Some of those who make the trip will get to eat at the museum before going home to celebrate their holidays.
The KANSAPA STATE COLLEGE’S BILL OF RIGHTS states that: “The K-State Museum of American Art has long been a focal point for the Kansan-born artist community.
The museum’s exhibitions are consistently among the best in the country and its collections are of the highest quality.
The Museum’s mission is to educate the public about art through exhibitions, programming and programs.
It has been recognized as one of the premier educational institutions for American art.”
