Mardi gras, the summer celebration of New Orleans, is just around the corner.

But before you do, there’s one simple thing you need to know: the MardiGras suits you’re about to see are made in China.
They’re actually the products of a group of Chinese manufacturers, and the makers have been working on making them for more than 30 years.
Here’s what you need.
First, some facts about mens fashion: The MardiGuas brand, which was originally named the M.J.K.M., was founded in Shanghai in 1932 by the legendary M.I.T. professor Wang Wen.
It began manufacturing suits for American soldiers stationed in China and Japan, and eventually became known for its classic style and high-end prices.
M.G.A.S. founder and chief executive Steve Adler, a New York-born Chinese immigrant who also holds the title of president of M.P.A., was born in Shanghai.
He spent a year in the United States in the early 1940s and began selling mens suits to American servicemen in the 1950s, a move that helped the MGI survive the Great Depression.
